The Crystal Lake Jaycees are a group dedicated to helping the community. We run over 100 events a year, some big some small. Most of our projects are "community service". We'd like to point out that contrary to popular belief serving the community is fun! Jaycees, more formally known as "Junior Chamber of Commerce," takes pride in giving young adults, age 18-40, hands-on experience running projects and leading others. That means planning, budgeting, team-building and more. The result is a win-win scenario: While learning leadership skills, Jaycees make a real difference in the community to help save parkland, build playgrounds, collect food, and give the greatest gifts for those in need. In Jaycees, you'll find optimistic people with seemingly endless enthusiasm, who view community service as a privilege, not a punishment. If that's how you see things too, then consider getting involved!
